Safety Technician

Trapper Mine is hiring a Safety Technician. This person will be responsible for assisting the Safety Department in the day-to-day operations of the mine.

Other responsibilities may include: • Conducting compliance checks, inspections and observations as necessary to ensure/enforce conformance with applicable MSHA regulations as well as Trapper’s internal safety policies and procedures • Assist with new hire training • Assume lead role in administering and documenting site-specific hazard training for contractors, vendors, and delivery personnel • Monitor and maintain AEDs in state of readiness • Provide support for other safety related duties

Applicant Preferences: • Experience and/or education in the safety field • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written. Effectively gets along with others in a professional manner • Ability to function effectively within a team environment and to interface effectively with personnel both internally and externally of the company • Proficient computer skills with specific knowledge in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel and PowerPoint) • Experience and familiarity with surface mining.
