Join Our Team as a Building Inspector I or II

Position Summary: Under the guidance of our Building Official, the Building Inspector plays a pivotal role in upholding building, plumbing, energy, and mechanical codes, as well as local ordinances. From conducting inspections to providing courteous customer service, you'll be integral in promoting the health, safety, and welfare of our community.


Hiring Range:
Building Inspector I: $61,667 -$74,000. The maximum pay for this position is $86,333
Building Inspector II: $69,600 - $87,000. The maximum pay for this position is $104,400


Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct on-site inspections to verify compliance with various codes.
• Provide guidance and support to contractors and the public on regulatory matters.
• Assist in enforcing town codes and recommending corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and issue necessary warnings or citations.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks.


What We're Looking For: Whether you're a seasoned professional or just starting your career, we have opportunities available for both Building Inspector I and II positions. See our requirements below:


Building Inspector I:
• Minimum of one year of relevant work experience.
• Ability to obtain two ICC certifications within three years of employment.


Building Inspector II:
• Five or more years of relevant work experience.
• Ability to obtain four ICC certifications within three years.


Essential Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
