Ad Operations Manager
The primary responsibility of the Ad Operations Manager is to assist individual account managers, the Ad Director and the Publisher to support and promote the sales activities of the advertising department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead advertising operations processes across newspaper, magazine and digital products, including account set-up, ordering, creative approval, execution, billing and collections
- Help coordinate short- and long-term projects, including the daily paper as well as magazines and events
- Assist with creating sales collateral and sales material
- Oversee the functions of the advertising assistant position and duties
- Book press tickets for special sections and wraps
- Manage premium placement tracker
- Work with customers/account managers to resolve any issues with ads
- Adhere to the publication workflow to meet all deadlines
- Execute and manage digital ad campaigns, including website, social media and newsletter
- Provide digital ad reporting on a weekly basis and as needed
- Provide digital ad impression forecasting on a weekly basis
- Solve problems and answer questions concerning any ad booking or creative
- Attend staff meetings and communicate routinely with sales, marketing, design and peers within the organization
- Design and execute in-house print and digital marketing campaigns
- Other duties and special projects as assigned
Experience/Qualifications:
- Sales experience or customer service/operation experience in a sales environment is required
- College degree or equivalent sales experience preferred
- Digital, marketing or social media experience preferred
- Ability to work with a variety of personalities, both inside and outside of the company
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to work with accuracy in a fast-paced, high-volume, deadline-driven environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong negotiation and presentation skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Proficient typing skills with excellent grammar, spelling and punctuation
- Knowledge of Microsoft and Google programs, and ability to learn new programs quickly (fluent with Excel and Google suite)
- Print and digital design skills, including knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop and email marketing
Pay range: $23 to $25 per hour
