Café leads are responsible for ensuring that the first impression of our guests is a favorable one by: training and overseeing the café cashiers and providing information to our guests about the property and the products we offer.  Café leads are also tasked with being positive role models and leaders in their department and strive to create a team environment. Leads are responsible for training café cashiers on systems and procedures and consistently reinforcing extraordinary service to our guests. Leads will re-stock and straighten products and maintain prepped food items in Sopris Cafe, with assistance from front line staff, when not busy. With direction from department manager, leads will create daily and weekly plans for prep and cleaning schedules.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities, and Qualifications:

• Manage all aspects of the location operation, from prep to clean up at end of day
• Lead team throughout entire shift with a positive attitude and remain encouraging through any busy times
• Observe and evaluate workers and work procedures to ensure quality standards and service
• Continually train team members in food preparation, service, sanitation, and safety procedures
• Help resolve or find the correct person to resolve guest issues
• Handle money with accuracy and efficiency, and give correct change. Responsible for voiding and refunding transaction of the team members in your location
• Control inventories of food, equipment, and small wares, and report shortages to designated personnel 
• Requisition supplies and products needed to ensure quality and timely delivery of services
• Protect company assets: money, merchandise, equipment. Maintain accurate records and loss prevention techniques by reporting any shoplifting, counterfeit bills, or any other activities that may be detrimental to the park
• Take and record temperature of food and food storage areas such as refrigerators and freezers
• Monitor food portions, production and time sequences, and workstation and equipment arrangements
• Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure efficient service and conformance to standards
• Assign duties, responsibilities, and work stations to employees in accordance with work requirements
• Completes all applicable department paperwork accurately and in a timely fashion
• Recommend measures for improving work procedures and worker performance to increase service quality and enhance job safety
• Must be willing and able to handle sensitive information and accurately account for cash and credit transactions
• Ensure compliance with all Iron Mountain Hot Springs policies and procedures
• Represents the company to guests and other team members in a positive and friendly manner
• Satisfies Iron Mountain Hot Springs’ standards for performance and conduct. For example, reports to work regularly and on time
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Able to interpret both written & verbal instructions.
• Available to work evenings, weekdays, weekends and holidays
• Must have reliable transportation
