Breck Ironworks was founded in 1999 and began fabricating structural steel packages from Breckenridge, Colorado’s residential and commercial construction industry. Today, the company still offers structural and fabricated steel but has evolved its Fire Features Division to a meaningful part of the company’s project mix.

Mark Bookman, the founder of the company, developed the concept of manufacturing steel fire pits circa 2007. The concept’s genesis was driven by Colorado’s strict fire bans, along with the desire to provide a cleaner, more efficient and aesthetically pleasing means of operating a fire-pit versus alternatives like wood, ceramic logs or even lava stones. The product was originally called “Fire on Demand” and took only a few years to catch on, but when it did, it was very popular with local builders and developers.

In 2017, the company was purchased by Monty Whatley, who recognized the value of the product, but more so, the potential for future expansion and development. And with Monty’s guidance, the company and the Brand have evolved greatly!

Monty’s vision has been to continously advance the product’s form and function to establish Breck Ironworks as the industry leader in premium outdoor fire features. The vision includes talented designers like Jason Koczak and a team of skilled fabricators, who work daily to facilitate projects through design to fabrication to delivery. From two (2) portable models to “fixed features” as well as custom designs, Breck Ironworks stands behind their products with a lifetime guarantee on parts and manufacturing.
