Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The Scale Operator is primarily responsible for the operation of the truck/rail car scale and scale house, in conjunction with fly ash/and related material loading operations. This role ensures all loads are properly weighed, recorded, and ticketed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Comply with Eco Material Technologies Safety Policies and Procedures

· Promote safe work habits to help create a zero-injury safety culture

· Attends regular safety meeting and follows all safety guidelines as required

· Maintain communication with utility

· Weighing in truck/railcar accurately as they arrive on site

· Organizes trucks/railcars to be filled in the most efficient manner

· Logging truck/railcar information and print/write weigh tickets and billing information.

· Check all trucks arriving on site with previous loads to ensure they are clean

· Monitor and track tonnage and other logistical information

· Responsible for all paperwork and reports as needed

· Housekeeping in all work areas

· Assist and train in other areas of plant operation as needed

· Other duties as assigned

· Regular attendance, timeliness and scheduling flexibility

· Responds promptly to customer needs

· Follows established policies and procedures

· Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness

· Strong verbal communication skills for conveying instructions, reporting issues, and collaborating with coworkers and supervisors

· Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions

· Manages time effectively and meets productivity standards

· Observes safety and security procedures including using equipment and materials properly and following all safety absolutes

· Capacity to deal with problems and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions

· Works well with others, follows instructions from supervisors and coordinates tasks with coworkers to achieve project goals

· Consistently punctual and reliable

· Ability and willingness to work rotating on-call shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime

· Ability to adapt to changing job site conditions, equipment requirements, and project priorities

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

The employee should have the following:

· High School Diploma or equivalent and training or certification in relevant skill or trade

· 1 - 2 years' experience in a relevant field

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

The employee should possess the ability to:

· Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that maybe uncomfortable

· Withstand exposure to temperature extremes inside or out

· Prolong standing or in stationary position

· Required to occasionally climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl

· Must be able to ascend/descend stairs or ladders

· Complete repetitive movements

· Bend and/or twist

· Lift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds

· Ability to move or traverse about the facilities

· Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions

· Wear all required personal protective equipment (hearing, vision and hardhat protection)
