Certified Professional Coder (CPC)/Biller

Horizon Vascular Specialists, a premier vascular surgery practice with offices in both Montgomery & Frederick counties, is seeking an experienced Certified Professional Coder (CPC)/Medical Biller to join our billing services team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum a three years’ experience in coding and medical billing. Our medical coders are vital to Horizon Vascular Specialists and are the first step in securing medical reimbursement for our provider services. In this position, you will be responsible for both the coding and medical billing process for your assigned physician(s).

Coding Responsibilities include:

*Review of patient procedure notes and translation of services into correct medical codes

*Input medical data into billing system (eClinicalWorks experience a plus)

*Maintain a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification and a thorough understanding of vascular ICD-10 (International Classification of Diseases) and CPT (Current Procedural Terminology)

Medical Billing Skills include:

*Proficiency with computers and medical billing software

*Knowledge of unfair debt collection practices and insurance guidelines

*Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid and commercial insurance payment practices

*Reconciliation and month-end close of Accounts Receivable

*Timely importing of electronic remittance advices (ERAs)

*Strict monitoring of Insurance appeals and Accounts Receivable balances through proven collection procedures
