IAI North America is looking for a talented and motivated Government Relations/Business Development Manager who wants to become a part of a growing aerospace company. The Government Relations/Business Development Manager will drive engagement to our soon-to-be open Visitor Center in Washington, D.C. This position requires excellent judgment and discretion and the ability to oversee significant projects.

IAI North America is looking for a talented and motivated Government Relations/Business Development Manager who wants to become a part of a growing aerospace company. The Government Relations/Business Development Manager will drive engagement to our soon-to-be open Visitor Center in Washington, D.C. This position requires excellent judgment and discretion and the ability to oversee significant projects.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Market the companys products and/or services via telephone and email, often cold-calling leads to gauge interest and create opportunity.
- Seek and develop new business opportunities in the market.
- Follow up on leads from the business development team to ensure they are processed timely and lead to pipeline creation.
- Develop and manage collaborative relationships with congressional targets, DOD representatives, and potential business partners.
- Serve as a spokesperson for our displayed products in the Visitor Center.
- Identify client needs, provide guidance and information around our products and services.
- Work with the Marketing Communications Manager to write materials such as opinion editorials, press releases, emails, and factsheets.
- Document all activities and customer interactions in Hubspot.com.
- Set appointments for both the business development team and prospective clients.
- Be a high energy individual with a strong desire to achieve top results with a dependable, positive can-do" attitude over the phone and in person.
- Manage the Visit Centers schedule, and managing office supplies.
- Bachelors degree or equivalent amount of experience or equivalent military experience required.
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in government relations or business and development.
- An effective communicator with excellent writing and public speaking skills.
- A creative and strategic thinker.
- Well-organized, able to work independently to achieve goals while balancing urgent and important needs.
- Previous work experience in inbound and outbound calls and inquiries.
- Ability to understand technical concepts, possess an enthusiasm for technology and to articulate clearly to all levels of technical aptitude.
- Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques (including cold calls).
- A good lobbyist who can advocate, persuade and cultivate relationships (experience in a legislative office within Congress is preferred)
- Must be a U.S. citizen
