THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN GLENWOOD SPRINGS, COLORAD AND WILL REQUIRE RELOCATION TO THE AREA.
JOB DESCRIPTION: The Boiler / Hydronic Technician is responsible to ensure the on-time, high-quality installation and repairs of boilers, snow melt systems, domestic hot water systems, pipes, fittings, hydronic systems, and HVAC equipment installs according to specifications and code.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install boilers, domestic hot water systems, snow melt systems, pipe, fittings, valves, hydronics and HVAC equipment, using the required tools.
- Assemble pipe sections, tubing, or fittings, using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering.
- Experience with soldering and brazing of pipe.
- Review blueprints, building codes, or specifications to determine work details, design, or procedures.
- Locate and mark the position of mechanical equipment, pipe installations, connections, passage holes, or fixtures instructions using measuring instruments such as rulers or levels.
- Measure, cut, thread, or bend pipe using hand or power tools or machines such as pipe cutters or pipe-threading machines.
- Follow applicable codes for all associated equipment.
- Gather equipment and part information and perform associated start up.
- Cooperate with other trades on the project to complete the project.
- Keep physical jobsite organized and tidy to ensure a safe professional work area.
- Maintain knowledge of local/national codes and industry standards.
- Safely operate and maintain company equipment.
- Assist, manage and train other Apprentice mechanics as required.
- Assist with equipment installations as required.
Physical Requirements
- Lifting
- Climbing (ladders, stairs, etc.)
- Bending or stooping.
- Extended periods of walking.
- Use shop equipment.
- Able to tolerate varying weather conditions.
- Operating a motor vehicle.
- Operating power or hand tools.
- Work within the established Climate Control Company protocol and procedures.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION
- High school graduate or equivalent or tenured experience
- Knowledge of residential and mechanical plumbing codes
- Must have a track record working within the hydronics industry.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in residential and or commercial boiler, hydronics, and plumbing work.
- Working knowledge of boilers, radiant floor and hydronic heating systems, including, gas, propane, and electric boilers.
- Ability to adapt and learn any type of boiler.
- Ability to operate combustion analyzers.
- Install, maintain, and repair boiler and hydronics systems.
HOURLY WAGE: $35.00 - $45.00/Hour+ Benefits DOE*
