Contemporaries is a government contracting firm working on a project with the National Institute of Health. We are currently looking to add a Program Manager to their team on a long-term contract. This position will require someone who has experience creating, educating, analyzing, and managing programs or projects focused on Disability, Sexual and Gender Minorities, or Rural Health. Fitting candidates should have experience working as a Scientist Administrator, Social and Behavioral Scientific Administrator, Health Science Policy Analyst, or Public Health Analyst. Selected candidates will be expected to perform duties of a Scientific Administrator and Public Health Analyst. Duties will include developing and executing research, education, awareness, and outreach initiative. Candidates will collaborate with other institutes, members, and partners to obtain and disseminate information, facilitate collaborations with internal and external partners, and coordinate logistics and promotions of Disability, SGM, and Rural Health research education, awareness, and outreach efforts. Fitting candidates should have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree with experience particularly as it related to minority health and health disparities research on Disability, SGM, and Rural Health research. This position will be a hybrid role (2 days/pay period) with the potential for fully-remote work for the right candidate. Candidates must be able to travel to NIH main campus in Bethesda, MD as needed, if working remotely.

Health Scientist Administrator Duties:

  • Plans, coordinates, implements, and evaluates all the institute’s research and addresses mandates and requirements in support of Disability, SGM, and Rural Health programs and responsibilities.
  • Responds to related inquiries regarding research.
  • Monitor and advises leadership and staff to ensure communications and activities are reviewed and responded to within deadlines.
  • Participate in inter-agency committees.
  • Coordinates research and engagement initiatives and conducts policy reviews, offers recommendations, and implements approved efforts.
  • Connects with key community partners and groups.
  • Identifies subject matter experts in Disability, SGM, and Rural Health research.

Public Health Analyst/Policy Analyst

  • Prepare all documents and info needed to communicate related activities.
  • Research and/or coordinate the preparation of related materials for leadership and staff, as well as NIH officials in advance of planned community outreach and engagement events.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute activities to learn about community concerns, needs, and opportunities.
  • Create central resource for information dissemination.
  • Facilitates community engagement activities.
  • Collect and triangulate qualitative and quantitative data from various resources for analysis.
  • Create reports and other dissemination materials.

Profile:

  • Must have a Ph.D. or related education in Disability, Sexual and Gender Minorities, or Rural Health.
  • Experience leading, or coordinating research efforts in SGM, Disabilities, or Rural Health.
  • Experience working with communities or hosting community engagement events.
  • Experience providing program support, or other research and administrative support to subject matter experts, scientist, or doctors.
  • Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative data or research.
  • Experience creating, researching, or analyzing Policies in related subjects.
  • Experience creating reports or other related materials.
  • Strong research, relationship building, communication, events management, and organizational skills.
