Accounting Manager

This role is working for Trilon's new partner - Rinker Design Associates (“RDA”). They are a leading provider of professional civil engineering services to both the public and private sector. RDA is a predominantly transportation-focused firm, with a specialty in large-scale design-build projects. We are looking to hire an Accounting Manager to support our finance accounting team. Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting:

• Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and external stakeholders.
• Monitor and analyze budget-to-actual variances, providing insights and recommendations for improvements.

GAAP Implementation & Revenue Recognition Processes

• Work with the Controller and Trilon finance team to implement and adjust accounting practices to ensure full alignment with GAAP.
• Strategize and develop a process to record revenue for all projects in alignment with GAAP.

Cash Flow Management:

• Manage and optimize cash flow through effective accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
• Track working capital efficiency to ensure timely payables and receivables.

Audit and Compliance:

• Support finance and accounting leadership by providing responses and data deliverables for audit requests.
• Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and ensure the company's accounting practices remain up-to-date and in compliance.

Team Leadership:

• Supervise and mentor a team of three other accounting professionals, providing guidance and support.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment within the finance team.

Process Improvement:

• Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in financial processes.
• Implement best practices and automation tools to streamline accounting operations.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

• Work closely with other departments to understand business operations and provide financial insights to support decision-making.
• Collaborate with the executive team to develop and execute financial strategies aligned with company goals.

Risk Management:

• Assess financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
• Establish and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets.

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred, but not required.
• Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management roles.
• Prefer, but not require experience or prior knowledge of professional services and project-based accounting
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
