Our private school is growing and in need of a Middle/High School English Language Arts& Social Studies teacher to join our roster of experienced, motivated and effective teaching professionals. The successful candidate will assume a classroom of 15-20 students. We strive in every way to create an inspiring and enriching atmosphere both for our students and our personnel. Every day, we encourage our Teachers to interact with their students on a personal level and to identify each student's learning patterns. We put strong emphasis on physical activity, interactive learning and the use of props and other educational tools.

Qualifications:

Pinnacle Academy hires only qualified teachers. All applicants must possess a Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited institution in education or the subject content that they are teaching and meet the professional teacher education requirements of PA. The school prefers all its teachers to have a teaching certification or single subject teaching credential or certification if teaching a specialized subject. A working knowledge of relevant technology is a must. Relevant teaching experience is a plus.

Duties and Responsibilities:

To plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. Pinnacle Academy teachers will take a student-centered approach, facilitating the development of subject area, leadership, critical thinking and analytical skills in each of their students.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Create lesson plans for each class based on your experience and the students' specific needs
  • Strong focus on project-based learning required for this position
  • Introduce interactive activities into the classroom and encourage students to vocalize their concerns and questions
  • Communicate with other team members as well as with parents about students' progress and behavior
  • Organize students into small groups for ELA/social studies education
  • Create a welcoming and inspiring atmosphere in the classroom
  • Listen carefully to parents' requests and concerns and address them as quickly as possible
  • Bachelor's Degree in English Language Arts, Humanities, History, or Education
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to teach creatively
